# Cancel a Reservation

To [cancel](/api-reference/endpoint/post-cancel-reservation) an existing reservation, the API provides a straightforward process with specific parameters and restrictions to ensure accuracy. Required details include:

* **Reservation ID**: The unique identifier of the reservation to be canceled.

Once canceled, the reservation status is updated, and any applicable refund details are processed according to the hotel’s policy.
